TRAVEL: PARIS, FRANCE

A while ago I read The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and it made me long to go back to France and explore somewhere other than just Paris. When Christina and I were in Paris in 2011, we didn’t really like it that much, but we both think that was due to the fact that we were staying in a not so nice area. We felt hesitant to go out and explore at night, which is too bad, really, because Paris seems like it would be a magical place at night. It’s a shame that we didn’t really get to experience it. Christina and I both agree that, had we been staying in a nicer area, we probably would’ve liked Paris. We probably would’ve had a very different experience if we had been with a few male friends too. Or even just some girls that are a little taller than us! Two small girls just over 5 feet tall are an easy target. Continue reading

TRAVEL: CALIFORNIA

Peter and I have officially moved in to my parents’ place and we honestly couldn’t be happier with our set up. We ended up having to move back to my parents’ place because no one would let us rent with our rodents and snake. In the end, moving in with my parents for a little while ended up being the best choice as we’ll be able to save up for a down payment on a house. So we’re very comfortable here and our home is looking very Christmassy. Continue reading

Travelling to places that you’ve been to before is like reading a mystery for the second time. You see things that you didn’t notice the first time, when you were distracted by something new. The next time seeing a place means that you’ll pay attention to different things, usually less of the touristy things, and start to experience more of the culture.  Continue reading

TRAVEL: ENGLAND – PART 1

England was the first place I travelled to overseas. My mum grew up in Liverpool and it was somewhere that I had always wanted to visit. In 2007, my entire family travelled to England to celebrate my Great-Grandmother’s 90th Birthday. I was bubbling with excitement and couldn’t wait to finally be in England. We also planned day trips to Wales and Ireland and I couldn’t wait to check some countries off of my long travel wish list. Continue reading
